The neighbors of Bosnia and Herzegovina are Croatia, Serbia and Montegro. The Neum town lies along the 26 km long Adriatic Sea coastline. The central and southern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina are hilly areas. The land in northeast is flat. The climate in Bosnia is continental type. Herzegovina offers Mediterranean climate. Bosnia and Herzegovina is rich in natural resources.
Bosnia has been populated since Neolithic period. In Bronze Age Indo European tribes replaced Neolithic population. Bosnia and Herzegovina was also a Roman empire. Christianity approached in parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the end of first century. Like many other countries of the world Bosnia and Herzegovina has also witnessed several human invaders, and is a witness of wars and struggles including World War II. Before becoming an Independent state in 1991, Bosnia and Herzegovina invaded and ruled by many including Ottoman Empire and SFR Yugoslavia.
President is the supreme authority of government. The parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the law making body. The parliament consists of the House of Peoples and the House of Representatives.
Bosnia is a war torn country; it has the responsibility of rebuilding. Bosnia and Herzegovina has one of the highest income equality rankings in the world, ranking eighth out of 193 nations.
